1. Sydney Opera House

Touted as one of the wonders of the modern world, the iconic Sydney Opera House is a necessary stop on your itinerary. Its unique design which has been lauded the world over is a dazzling sight for the eyes to behold. As a famous performing arts venue, it is home to many of Sydney's theatrical and music companies as well as a frequent stop for many touring theatre, ballet and musical productions. 2. Sydney Harbour Bridge

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is yet another of Sydney's world-famous icons. Standing at 134 meters and spanning over 48.8 meters, it is the widest long-span bridge in the world. A gift to Sydney from its Chinese sister city of Guangdong, this architecture and landscape of the garden is infused with Chinese design elements. Visitors looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city will find it an idyllic and somewhat mystic sanctuary. After visiting the Garden, nature lovers can also head on over to Sydney Aquarium. It is one of the largest aquariums in the world and is also located in Darling Harbour.

For those seeking a bit more thrill and excitement, Sydney's IMAX theatre is a must-see. Featuring a giant movie screen about eight stories high, it is the world's largest IMAX 3D cinema screen. It features a range of brilliant 3D films that are sure to bombard your senses and leave you wanting more. Other places of interest on Darling Harbour include the Australian National Maritime Museum as well the Harbourside Shopping Centre, which features more than a hundred retail outlets as well as variety of food choices.
